Reading biographies of our freedom fighters will make them aware of their achievements and struggles that can help to inculcate a sense of patriotism in them. How does literature contribute to their lives in later years?Literature helps children in developing a broader outlook towards life. Their understanding of the text is stored in the subconscious mind and leaves a lasting impression. The benefits would only show when these children grow up. Reading helps to mould lives in the right direction. What role can school and parents play in motivating them to read?It is essential that parents show interest in children's reading habits. This would inspire a fondness for reading in the children. Schools should have at least one session every week for children to enjoy literature beyond their classroom curriculum. Parents and teachers should make them realise that books are their best companions.
